What a Year!
The website is full of photos from this last year at BPW/Jupiter. Take a look and remember the great meetings, fun events and friendships and business contacts that have grown from this group.
Thank You!
To Nicole Payne
who after 1 1/2 years as Second Vice President heading Membership rose to the President's position and led us through a challenging year of the new BPW/Florida role and an increase in membership and development of new talent in the group. Nicole is also continuing on in her second year as President and her fourth year in leadership. THANK YOU FOR THIS YEAR AND NEXT!
To Candy Koester
who jumped in as Second Vice President to head up Membership with all of its connective strands to so many parts of our group: the meetings, the fundraisers, the contacts. Candy also headed the fabulous baskets, door prizes and special gifts at every turn to make our meetings extra special. THANK YOU FOR THIS YEAR AND NEXT!
Thank you to all the Committee Chairs like Lynne Spears, Marion Suro, Lucky Doolittle, Judy Leiser, Larabee Johnson, Deb Rasmussen, Peggy Sutton, Julie Heuer, Patricia Persante, and Nancy Robinson who took charge and made this year happen!!!!
BPW/Jupiter Year End Report 2009-2010
Education Spotlight
Scholarship awards of $1000 each were given to Emily Cassulo, a third year student majoring in journalism and Jupiter resident for the 17-32 year category, and to Maria Mazzone, working on her degree from Florida Culinary Institute, for the 32-62 year category. We raised $4438 in funds from our fundraisers, 50/50 and Piggy Banks. BPW/Jupiter is sending $2000 to our local scholarships, $1500 to Florida Education Fund and an amount to be determined to BPW Foundation scholarships.
Membership
We have continued our plan to encourage new members through our fundraisers, particularly our superlative programming and our Women Who Dine events. We inducted ten new members during the year.
Fundraising
We participated in the Macy’s Shop for a Cause Day in the fall, though the format from the store had changed but with a net of $491. We continued our “Women Who Dine” event, holding six evenings throughout the year at members’ houses. This exciting event continues to garner new members, expand BPW’s profile in the community, increase our members’ knowledge of the community needs and be our major fundraiser! Our events have raised a total of $2813, half of which has gone to our scholarships and half has been split among the Family & Friends Provision Center, Martha’s House, Florida Resource Center for Women and Children, Wounded Warriors, PACE and Foster Children’s Project. Through this event, 34 new women were introduced to BPW/Jupiter and 5 have become members with several more in the process. We repeated our very successful Numerology party with Member Julie Heuer telling us more than we wanted to know and raising $360. We had a new event, Wine Tasting in October, which garnered $383 and was a great success. Another one is planned for May of 2010.
Social and Community Events We enjoyed a Holiday Party with 48 guests and collection for Toys for Tots. Our fundraising efforts allowed us to make our annual holiday donation of $400, this year to four families of $100 each. In February our members assisted, as we do each year, in passing out water to the runners and walkers in the Children’s Home Society 5K.

Thank You!
To Angela Vagell
who after other leadership roles in the past, took on the First Vice President's position to head up the very important Programs role. Our programs fed our brains and souls and made it easy to fill the room month after month. THANK YOU!
To Irene Soltis
who took on the role of Secretary and learned at full speed all the details of this group, diligently documenting our efforts and all the behind the scenes decisions that show up in the fun things! THANK YOU!
To Terry Phillips
who joined the group in April 2009 and at the same meeting agreed to take on the role of Treasurer. With her experience as Treasurer in many other organizations, she made it look easy, all the while learning about BPW. THA NK YOU!

Monthly Programs BPW/Jupiter put together another strong year of programs for its members and guests by seeing the vision of “Weaving the Strands” at the Spring Training Conference and through surveying our members on their desires for the year. Vibrant programming is recognized as the foundation for retaining members and drawing new ones.
